June 2025 Monthly Meeting Minutes
Board members present: Lee Kegan, Matt Shepard, Justin Clark
Others present: Katie Moll, Judy Humpal, Bob Utphall, Tom Humpal, Cory Green, Josh Pittman, Carrie Green
  • Meeting called to order by Chairman Kegan at 7:00 pm
  • Pledge recited
  • Financial Report given by Judy Humpal-Treasurer. Checking balance $5,112.41. Equipment fund balance: $ 29, 525.13.  General Savings balance: $114,849.85.  Equipment CD balance: $25,214.25
  • Public Report-
    •  When discussing emergency protocols, was asked what constitutes an emergency?   Discussion followed
  • Ambulance District Report-EMS currently at a downgraded status to Basic Services due to lack of training.  Discussion followed about professionalism and urgency of current EMS staff.  EMS needs to continue to “Stand By” until fire calls are finished.
  • Fire District Report-Had a busy spring with grass fires and mutual aid.  Currently have 27 active firefighters.  Hope to cover the response time at the July meeting.
  • Gopher Bounty- Kegan moved to increase the gopher bounty to $4.00 per tail. Shepard seconded.  Motion carried.
  • Nextgen-Board agreed to authorize fiber optic line to be run to the building at no cost.  No decision was made on to subscribe to the new service or not.
  • Emergency Operations Plan Update
    • Clark moved to approve Resolution 2025-3 to update the line of succession.  Shepard seconded.  Motion carried.
    • Clark moved to approve Resolution 2025-4 to adopt the MMS as the Emergency Protocol to be in line with Dunn County.  Shepard seconded. Motion carried.
  • Patrolman’s Report-
    • Scrap metal to Kadinger’s.
    • Brushing
    • Mowing
    • 1 Ton brakes fixed
    • 1150th Ave has road damage from Weedam Construction.  We will have Scott Construction repair it when they are around.
    • 1020th Ave needs some culvert work
    • Bridge Inspection
      • Shepard moved to contact Dunn County to do Dive Inspections on bridges on 1205th Ave and 1150th Ave for $1,350 each.  Clark seconded the motion.  Motion carried.
  • Shepard moved to approve vouchers.  Clark seconded.  Motion carried.
  • Shepard moved to adjourn the meeting.  Clark seconded.  Motion carried.
