Meeting Minutes February 2022
Chairman Siler called the regular monthly board meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022. Board members present: Chuck Siler, Lee Kegan and Steve Boyd. Others present: Laura Rasmussen-Treasurer, Katie Moll-Clerk, Brad Eggen-Patrolman, Bob Utphall, Tom Humpal, Dave Bartlett, Carlton DeWitt, Cory Green, JoAnne Utphall, Carrie Green, John Zavodny and Gordy Cronk.
 
Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
 
Meeting Minutes-Kegan moved to accept the January General Meeting. Boyd seconded.  Motion carried.
 
Financial Report given by treasurer Laura Rasmussen.  Account balances for the month end were as follows: General checking $31,948.24; Equipment Fund $16,277.58 General Savings Fund $437,005.82, ARPA Grant Savings $33,992.60.
 
Clerk Report given by clerk Katie Moll.   Regular January board meeting.  Year end financial report prepared for audit.  Set up for February Primary Election, including new equipment, practice test and public test.  End of 4th quarter and year end payroll reports, including W-2s, W-3, WT-7, and 1099’s.  Enrolled new employee in Wisconsin Retirement Plan.  Set up payment plan for townsperson with back taxes.
 
Public Input
  • Dave Bartlett is currently running for County Board.  He spoke on current issues, his ideas on spending and fielded specific questions from the group.
  • Ambulance report-Currently running very short on staff. Encouraging everyone to help recruit.  Boyceville will pay for the class with a 2 year commitment to work.
  • Danny Swanson family benefit to be held on February 19th.  Recovering from back car accident.
 
Driveway Permit-Kegan moved to approve driveway permit for Dave Mastbergen .  Boyd seconded.  Motion carried.
 
Patrolman’s Report
  • Most of month was plowing snow.  Icing has been bad. It has been too cold for salt to work
  • Kegan moved to purchase air conditioner for the grader from Badger for $3,800 for the parts, labor and mileage.  Boyd seconded.  Motion carried.
  • Boyd moved to spend up to $3,500 on spring herbicide needs.  Kegan seconded.  Motion carried.  Planning to partner again with New Haven Township on this project.
  • Kegan moved to request gravel bids for 5,500 tons of gravel.  Boyd seconded. Motion carried.
 
Resolution 2022-1: Boyd moved to approve resolution 2022-1 to reduce election workers to 3 from 7 for the Spring Primary Election. Kegan seconded.  Motion carried.
 
2021 Financial Audit: Kegan moved to approve audit.  Boyd seconded.  Motion carried.
 
Vouchers:  Boyd moved to pay vouchers. Kegan seconded.  Motion carried.
 
Adjourn: Kegan moved to adjourn meeting.  Boyd seconded.  Motion carried.
